This graphic tee draws inspiration from Buddha Jumps Over the Wall—a famous dish from Fujian province—and classic Great Wall souvenir T-shirts. According to legend, the dish was so aromatic that even a devout monk couldn’t resist leaping over the monastery wall to taste it.

We gave this story a satirical twist by combining it with China’s digital landscape. Mimicking the design of the iconic “I Climbed the Great Wall” tourist tee, the text now reads: “I Jumped the Firewall”—referring to China’s internet censorship system that restricts access to foreign websites like Instagram and YouTube.

The graphic features a Buddha-like figure leaping over the Great Wall, playing on the double meaning of Buddha Jumps Over the Wall: a culinary classic and a metaphor for digital liberation.
